JANA GREENIDGE  CHTAEF/The Knot Inc. Scholar 2009
I was chosen to receive the CHTAEF scholarship this year, and I am writing this letter to express my sincerest thanks to you for providing this scholarship.
 
It is an honor to be recognized for my hard work and receiving the scholarship motivates me to continue to strive for excellence. Your generosity has made a profound impact on my life and I am truly grateful to be the recipient of your scholarship. Receiving the award is of tremendous benefit to me.
 
My course at The Culinary Institute Of America Greystone California was a wonderful experience, the admin. were very helpful and warm along with the tutors and students.
The course was taught by John Difilippo and he gave us a few techniques and showed us fundamentals to creating wedding cakes. We learnt how to make different flowers, stacking of wedding cakes, putting different shapes and sizes together and other things to make a wedding cake complete.
  
I gained different ideas from some of the students in the class who had there own business in wedding cakes and pastry. At the last day of class we able to create our individual wedding cakes with what we knew, concepts from John and the different ideas from the other students.
 
I am proud to say, the knowledge I gained enable me to help design and create a celebration cake for the Barbados Hilton's 4th Anniversary on the 6th of June 2009 with two of my colleagues Ayisha and Cordelia, both CHTAEF scholars.
 
Overall the experience was immaculate and I would like to someday be able to attend another course.
 
Thank you once again to CHTAEF and The Knot for your contributions to helping on my journey to becoming an Executive Pastry Chef.
