I applied to the CHTAEF because my family has little resources and they do not possess the necessary incomes to cover my studies. Another it is that wanted to seek a way that could cover those expenses, as I wanted to have a good education, that is to say, to study in a university of academic excellence. Also I thought I needed to be an exemplary person for my community and my family, and thus to be able to help in everything that be possible. I want to surpass all economic expectations by having a good education; finally I thought that I stood a good chance of success with the help and support of CHTAEF & Yucatan Holidays. I am forever grateful.

PUCMM is a university of academic excellence. It offers all the facilities for its students although I would have been unable to afford it alone. This institution is a Catholic school, therefore they offer religious matters as a course of study and a grounding for all courses. Cathloicism is a big religion in the Dominican Republic. Personally I have had the opportunity to create working relationships with foreign people. In those relations I have been able to exchange culture, among them they are: French, Haitian, American, and Chinese. I think that the culture of each country is very interesting because their beliefs and customs are very different to ours.

During the first year I was learning to adapt to the university. I studied some basic matters such as Language, Mathematics, Dominican History, Biology, Academic Orientation, etc. Now I am continuing the academic courses. At present I have been learning all the essential basics for a hotel career. It pleases me well. Among the courses that I have been taking and learning are: The Hospitality Service, Science of Food, Sanitary Management of Food, Operations of Food and Beverages, etc. Oh, another very important thing that I have learned is to establish relations with people of different culture to mine as in future they may be guests!

Once I have finished the course I think to be able to apply my know-how and learning in the tourist sector and to people that need this knowledge; whether in tourist projects or to work in a hotel as general manager. Also I think long-term to I would like to be able to be an owner of a hotel or to have a restaurant. For in this way I will be an exemplary person for my country and the tourist profession.
