Following the completion of the Front Office Management course conducted at Cornell University. I am happy to report how the knowledge gained has assisted me and how it is being put to use in my chosen career.

The course in Front Office Management was facilitated by Mr. Mark Irgang. I found Mr. Irgang to be an incredibly proficient and adept facilitator. He facilitated interesting discussions and used applicable illustrations to teach the concepts and procedures for quality management of the Front Office.  It was evident that he has an extensive wealth of knowledge. Some of the topics explored were Communication, Budgeting, Productivity, Time Management, Team Building and Yield Management. The insights gained in respect of these subject areas have greatly assisted me in becoming a more knowledgeable individual and more versatile in carrying out my duties as a Front office Supervisor at Jolly Harbour Villas.

Each participant was invited to submit any desired topic in Front Office operation on which he or she wished to have focused attention. This evolved into a remarkable group discussion that enabled each participant to interact, exchanging experiences and ideas. Some of the participants enrolled in this course were Executive Housekeepers, Front office Managers and Supervisors. It was significant that although we represented different cultures and departments we all shared the common goal of "meeting and exceeding guest expectations".

In conclusion, my overall experience was an excellent educational and motivational exercise and I look forward to making use of future opportunities to continue my career growth and development.
