Karolin Troubetzkoy, Executive Director, Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain Resorts, Saint Lucia
Karolin Troubetzkoy is the Executive Director, Marketing and Operations of Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain Resorts in Soufriere, Saint Lucia. Mrs Troubetzkoy has been the President of the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA). She has been instrumental in the successful implementation of a hotel booking engine for SLHTA as well as the launch of a Saint Lucia Tourism Enhancement Fund (a voluntary contribution system of US 2 per visitor per room night), which enjoys a high compliance rate among the Saint Lucia hotels. Mrs Troubetzkoy personally oversaw the development of a broad social media platform for the SLHTA. Mrs Troubetzkoy is a Director of the Saint Lucia Tourist Board and the Chairperson of the Tourist Board Marketing Committee. Mrs. Troubetzkoy has been an active member of the marketing committees of the Saint Lucia Tourist Board for the past 20 years and has been a Saint Lucia Tourist board member from 2007-2009 and again from 2010. As the current 1st Vice President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), Mrs Troubetzkoy chaired the CHTA Advocacy Committee for the region from 2012-2014. As of Oct 1, 2014, Mrs Troubetzkoy is the Chairperson of CAST (Caribbean Alliance of Susatainable Tourism). She is a board member of CTDC (Caribbean Tourism Development Company). She is the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Saint Lucia and is a citizen of Saint Lucia.
K. Denaye Hinds, Director of Sustainability, OBM International
As the joint head of OBMI’s Green Matters Studio, Denaye leads OBMI’s initiative within the sustainability sector. With her extensive experience in sustainable infrastructure, tourism operations, training and regulations for international standards and systems, she is responsible for building and leading OBMI’s Design and Planning sustainability policy and projects.
As a native Bermudian and engineer/project management graduate, she believes not only in the success of sustainability within design and operations, but in advantages that sustainability provides both economically and throughout the social fibers of the places where she works. A LEED AP BD+C and accredited auditor, sustainability is innate in all aspects of her work through the focus of responsible design and management. Denaye promotes the various principles of sustainability in every aspect of her work and social responsibilities.
Denaye is currently the Chairman and Engagement Director of the US Green Building Council Miami Branch and Co-Chairs the Sustainable Tourism & Hospitality Initiative for the organization at the regional South Florida level. Spearheading OBMI’s Social Responsibility, giving back to communities where she resides is evident and continues to be a driving force both personally and professionally.
