If you are a consumer-facing tourism provider such as an attraction or restaurant, and either a CHTA member and/or a member of your local hotel association, you are also entitled to a free listing and can load your data via the same link above.

Caribbean Travel Marketplace Has 12,476 Pre-Scheduled Business Meetings; 15 New Companies from France Plus Belgium, China, Ireland, Poland, Switzerland
Caribbean Travel Marketplace saw an increase in pre-scheduled business meetings between buyer and supplier companies with 12,476 appointments scheduled in advance, 226 more appointments than last year. Another positive highlight is the increase in international buyer interest with 22 countries represented, an increase of four more countries over 2012. Additionally, buyers from five new countries participated in the region's premier marketing event including 15 companies from France as well as delegates from Belgium, China, Ireland, Poland and Switzerland. CHTA Calls For Heads Of Government Summit On Tourism Issues Impacting Region Within Six Months

Alec Sanguinetti Retires After 52 years in Caribbean Tourism
On Jan. 31, CHTA hosted a party to celebrate the retirement of Alec Sanguinetti, who after 19 years with the Association and 52 years as one of the tourism industry's top airline and hotel executives. Alec was also honoured throughout Caribbean Travel Marketplace for his contributions to the Caribbean tourism industry and was made an honorary lifetime director of CHTA. While we shared tearful goodbyes with Alec, we know that he and Flavia will enjoy the happiness of retirement as they spend time travelling at their leisure. Best wishes on your retirement Alec.
CHTA Names Vanessa Ledesma Director Of Operations & Events
CHTA has announced that Vanessa Ledesma will assume the role of director of operations, a new position with responsibilities for overall day-to-day oversight of the Association. CHTA President & CTO Chairman Support Abolishing UK APD Based On PricewaterhouseCoopers Economic Impact Study
Richard J. Doumeng, president, CHTA, and Beverly Nicholson-Doty, chairman, CTO Council of Ministers and Commissioners of Tourism, are supporting a recent study by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) which shows that the abolition of the UK's Air Passenger Duty (APD) could bring a lasting boost to the UK economy, generating a net tax gain for the Treasury and creating almost 60,000 new jobs. The abolition of the tax would have an immediate positive impact on the Caribbean region with major beneficiaries being destinations that are heavily dependent on the UK market.
