Over the past several months, CHTA’s CEO Frank Comito has visited the Caribbean destinations of Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, St. Martin, the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands as part of CHTA’s ongoing outreach to member associations. CHTA welcomes the opportunity to learn more about the destinations successes and challenges while sharing with them the work of CHTA and important data and information they can draw from to implement new strategies to tackle local issues.
Mr. Comito was a featured speaker at SMART, the St.Martin / Sint Maarten Regional Tradeshow in June, where he presented the workshop “Today and Tomorrow: Regional Tourism Insights, Intelligence and Initiatives”. He shared current performance data on the Caribbean region regarding tourism, as well as an outlook and a presentation of trends that will impact the regional tourism industry as well as insights on how to improve the marketability of tourism destinations by leveraging local resources.
